Did you check it with a marking gauge or just eyeball the face before you started cutting? I keep a pencil mark on the waste side and a piece of tape on the good face, and that tape has saved me more than once. Also worth doing a quick test cut on scrap from the same board since grain can flip on you even in one plank. Nine hundred bucks is a rough lesson but you won't make that one twice.
