Saw a crew in Nashville bracing a 12 foot gate with just a 2x4 and a dream
Stopped at a job site off Nolensville Pike last week and watched these guys hang a driveway gate with one diagonal brace and no kicker at the bottom. Is a single brace on gates that size fine where you all work, or am I right to think it will sag within a year?

Feels bad for whoever paid for that gate because they are gonna be calling somebody else in a year to fix the sag. Watched a crew do almost the same thing down here and it started drooping before the season even changed. One brace on a gate that wide just is not enough to hold it.
