PSA: A $15 Japanese pull saw beats a power jigsaw for trim work any day
I was doing a window casing job last week and tried to use my jigsaw for the miter cuts, but it kept chipping the pine. Switched to a simple Ryoba saw I got online and the cuts were clean as a whistle with zero tear-out. So why are we still pushing new guys to buy all the power tools first?

My grandpa's old tool chest had three hand saws and no power tools. He built our whole porch with them, and those joints are still tight forty years later. Maybe we forgot how much skill and speed a simple sharp blade can give you.

Honestly though, that sounds like a ton of extra work for no real reason.

Wait, the whole porch with just three hand saws? @ramirez.betty that's wild. I mean, cutting all those boards and getting the angles right for the joints, that's a crazy amount of work by hand. No wonder the joints are still tight, that's some serious skill right there.
