Old timer named Mike told me to never carry a framing hammer over 22 ounces...

I ignored him for 10 years and now my elbows click every morning, anyone else pay for stubbornness with their joints?

@holly_walker76 probably saw it coming, that old timer Mike knew what he was talking about with the elbow thing. That clicky sound is your body telling you something, and at some point you gotta listen. I had a similar thing happen with my wrists from gripping too heavy on my tool handles for years, switched to a lighter touch and suddenly the pain just went away. Funny how we think we're being tough but really we're just breaking ourselves down faster.

Ask him what weight he started using instead?

You know what, @holly_walker76 actually makes a solid point here. Used to think switching to a lighter weight was just a cop out or whatever, but I've changed my mind after trying it myself. Dropped from 50s to 30s for OHP and suddenly my form clicked and shoulders started growing again. It's humbling but honestly better for long term progress. The weight on the bar doesn't matter as much as how you actually move it. Anybody else had that humbling moment where they had to swallow their pride and drop down?
