Hot take: pocket hole joinery is way overused in modern framing

I spent last weekend fixing a deck frame a guy built with nothing but pocket screws and it sagged 2 inches in under a year. Has anyone else seen this fail or am I just dealing with bad workmanship?

Built a planter box with pocket holes once and the thing wobbled worse than me after three cups of coffee. lmao lesson learned the hard way.
