Hit 200 custom handrail jobs last week and it caught me off guard
When I started out 15 years ago I never thought I'd be counting handrails as my main thing, but that number reminded me how many staircases I've actually measured and fitted in Dallas alone.

The first staircase I ever worked on was a tight spiral in an old Oak Cliff house. The homeowner wanted industrial pipe rails but they had this tiny landing that barely fit two people. Took me three trips just to get the angles right. Now I can walk into a house and know within minutes how the railing's going to work out, which is weird considering I started out doing flat decks and fences.

That number caught me off guard" is such a good way to put it. It's wild how something you just start doing can turn into the main part of your work without you really noticing. I bet looking back at 200 handrails makes you realize how many houses and families you've actually touched over the years too. Each one has its own story with the staircase shape and the homeowner's taste, so that's a lot of different challenges you've solved. Must feel pretty solid to hit that milestone, even if it snuck up on you.
