Heard a bar owner say his bartops need refinishing every 2 years

I was at a local place downtown yesterday and the owner told me he strips and re-varnishes his oak bar every 2 years because of the skin oils and spills. Never thought about how bar tops in a busy spot get way more abuse than a kitchen table. Anyone used a conversion varnish on commercial bar tops that holds up better?

Never really thought about it like that, but it makes sense for a busy bar.

I used to think you had to have a bunch of fancy glassware and gadgets, but @chen.casey is right. Seeing how fast things move at a busy spot really changes your whole approach, doesn't it?
