Had a job in Phoenix last month that went from perfect to a total mess in one day.

We were framing a big addition, and the lumber delivery was spot on. Then a freak monsoon hit. Got 3 inches of rain in two hours. The whole site turned to mud, and a pallet of treated 2x6s slid right into the foundation trench. Boss said we lost a full day and about $800 in ruined material just digging it out. Has anyone else had a site get wrecked by weather that fast?

Did the boss try to claim that on insurance?

Wait, @oliver_morgan, are you saying he actually tried to file a claim for that? That's wild. I heard he tried to say the whole server room flood was "equipment failure" when everyone knows a pipe burst because they never fixed the leak.

Claim that on insurance" is the real question. Bosses will try to claim anything if they think they can get away with it. It all depends on how good their policy is and how bold they feel.
