A foreman in Dallas said my stair stringers looked like they were cut by a guy in a hurry, and he was right
I'd been cutting stringers with a circular saw and finishing the corners by hand for about 4 months on a two-story deck job in Dallas. The foreman walked the stairs, pointed at the seat cuts, and said 'those notches look like they were cut by a guy in a hurry,' so I switched to a router jig and started clamping a straightedge on every cut. How do you all handle stringers on steep runs, do you build a jig or just take the extra time with a handsaw?
