Took me 5 weeks to figure out my resume was getting auto-rejected by one dumb file setting
I kept applying to jobs in Denver for over a month and heard nothing, like 60 applications and zero callbacks. Turned out I was saving my resume as a PDF from an old version of Word and the text layer was coming through as garbled mess in those screening tools. A recruiter friend had me export it again from Google Docs and run it through a free text checker, and all my job titles were showing up as symbols. Took me 5 weeks to spot something that took 10 minutes to fix, so how do you all test your resume before you send it out?
