The 'quiet quitting' advice I kept hearing backfired for me in Austin

Last month I followed the popular career advice to do the bare minimum at my tree service job, thinking it would protect my energy and maybe lead to a raise. Instead, my crew noticed within 3 days and I lost the trust of two guys who used to back me up on tough removals. Has anyone else found that this 'act your wage' mindset actually hurt their standing or their team's respect, or am I just in a field where that doesn't work?

Wait, did anyone else notice that whole "quiet quitting" thing turned into a whole different beast once you're actually swinging chainsaws all day?
