Spent $300 on a career coach and wish I'd just bought a book instead

I paid $300 for a 3-session career coach package off LinkedIn last month, and she basically just told me to update my resume and network more lol. For the same money I could have gotten a solid resume review and a LinkedIn optimization guide. Anyone else try a coach and feel like it wasn't worth it?

Three hundred bucks for "update your resume and network more" is absolutely wild (I just... can't even). You basically paid for what a 15 minute YouTube search would've given you for free. A good resume review or a solid LinkedIn guide would've been way more bang for your buck, that's for sure. At least now you know to ask way more specific questions before handing over your credit card to anyone with a "coach" in their bio, right?

Yeah my coworker dropped $400 and they told her to "just apply for jobs you like.
