PSA: I paid $1,800 for a 'career coach' in Chicago who just sent me YouTube links
I was stuck at my old job for 4 years and got scared I was falling behind, so I dropped $1,800 on a career coach in Chicago who promised to help me land something better. All she did was send me links to free YouTube videos about resumes and tell me to 'network more.' When I asked for a real plan she said I needed to buy her $400 LinkedIn course, and that was when I finally walked away. Has anyone actually hired a coach who did more than recycle stuff you can google for free?
