My old boss said 'specialize or die', now I have two offers for generalist roles
He told me back in Austin 3 years ago that jack-of-all-trades resumes get tossed, so I went deep into data analytics. Now both companies hiring me say they like that I can jump between marketing and ops, so was he just protecting his own narrow path or is this a timing thing? Has anyone else gotten career advice that seemed solid then flipped on them later?
