My old boss called me out on something and it stuck with me for weeks
I was at a coffee shop in Denver last Thursday catching up with my former manager from 3 years ago. She said I always try to solve problems alone instead of asking the team for input, and that it limits my growth. At first I got defensive, but then I realized she was right about 3 different projects I messed up on. Has anyone else had a past coworker point out something you never noticed about yourself?

Wait, 3 years later and she remembered that specific thing about you? That's wild but also kinda cool that she cared enough to bring it up. I've had old coworkers hit me with stuff and it stings at first but then you realize they were looking out for you. It's weird how someone from way back can see blind spots you've been carrying around without knowing. Makes me wonder what my old crew would say about me if we grabbed coffee tomorrow.

You ever think about which version of you they're remembering though? Like, is the person they bring up still the same one you are now, or did you leave that guy behind without realizing it?
