My 3 year old networking notebook saved me from a mess last week
I started keeping a plain spiral notebook back in early 2021 for every client I meet with. I just jot down the date, what they said they wanted, and any random details like 'wife hates blue' or 'wants low maintenance plants.' Last week a lady called me back after 3 years saying she wanted to finish her backyard exactly how we talked about. I flipped to her page from March 2021 and had her exact wish list written down including the specific type of gravel she picked out. She was shocked I remembered anything and signed the contract on the spot. Has anyone else found a weird system like this that helps you stand out with clients?

Right because keeping notes on what your clients actually want is some kind of alien technology now. I guess all the other landscapers just show up and guess what gravel goes in the driveway. Pretty soon we'll be patting ourselves on the back for remembering our own phone numbers.
