I totally blanked during a big presentation at the Denver office last quarter

I was showing our Q3 numbers to a room of 15 managers and my mind just went empty for a solid 30 seconds. I had to stop, take a breath, and admit I needed a second to check my notes. It felt awful in the moment, but I got through it by skipping ahead to a part I knew better. Has anyone else had a major brain freeze at work and found a good way to bounce back?

Wait you had to present to 15 managers? That sounds like my worst nightmare. A full 30 seconds of silence must have felt like an hour. Honestly skipping ahead to the part you knew is the smartest move you could make. Most people would just keep trying to force it and make it worse.

Actually, forcing through the awkward silence can show real grit. Patricia_schmidt14, skipping ahead might look like you're dodging a problem. Sticking with the hard part, even if you fumble, proves you can handle pressure and think on your feet. Sometimes the smart move is to just power through the mess.
