I thought those $15 resume review sites were a scam, then a recruiter in Austin actually called me back
Honestly I always figured paying anyone to look at my resume was throwing money away, so I just kept sending the same two pages out for 8 months with zero callbacks. Last month my cousin pushed me to try a $15 review from some guy on Fiverr, and he told me my bullet points had no numbers in them and my summary was just buzzwords stacked on buzzwords. I rewrote three bullets with actual results like cut ticket times from 4 days to 1, and within two weeks I got two phone screens. Tbh it stung hearing how bad the old version was, but it was the fastest $15 I ever spent on my career. Has anyone else paid for a cheap review and actually gotten interviews after, or did I just get lucky with this one guy?
