I saw the weirdest job fair booth at the Portland convention center last week

It was for a company that makes custom pet food, and their whole thing was you could 'bring your dog to work' every day. I mean, idk, maybe it's just me but I can't see how that fits with career growth unless you're a vet. Has anyone else run into a job offer that just seemed totally out of place for your field?

That's just companies trying to be quirky to stand out. Feels like every place now has to have some weird gimmick instead of just offering a decent job.

Honestly, I feel you on this one. "Weird gimmick instead of just offering a decent job" hits the nail on the head. Tbh, a slide is cool for like two seconds, but it doesn't pay the bills or give you good benefits. Ngl, it feels like companies think shiny distractions will make up for low pay or bad management. I'd take a boring office with a fair boss and a living wage over a slide any day.

My last job had a slide instead of stairs.
