Found out from a recruiter that 60% of resumes get tossed in the first 6 seconds
I was talking to a hiring manager in Chicago last week and she showed me eye-tracking data that confirmed most people only scan the top third of a page before deciding, has anyone else seen those heat maps?

Calling total BS on that 6 second number. I watched a hiring manager spend a full minute reading my bullet points about data entry once. Plus those eye tracking studies are usually done in labs with fake resumes, not real people in messy offices with coffee and phone calls. They act like it's some hard science but it's just a recruiting company trying to sell you their resume formatting service.
