Can we talk about the moment you realized your job was just a series of tasks?
I was on a Tuesday video call with my manager in Denver, going over the same quarterly report for the third time, and it hit me that I hadn't actually learned a new skill since the Python course I took three years ago.

My Denver manager asked for that same report again, so I signed up for a coding class that night.

Saw a post about automating reports with Python, @derekjenkins. Might be a good fit for that class.

That moment hits hard. I remember sitting in a bar after a double shift going over the same six steps for closing. Wash glasses, wipe counters, count cash, lock up. Every single night it's the exact same loop. I thought bartending was supposed to be about people and stories but most of it is just mindless repetition. Three years went by and I hadn't learned anything new either. It's depressing when you realize your whole day is just checking boxes that don't go anywhere.
