Watched two big YouTubers handle their apology videos completely differently this week

One guy came back with a short, direct video owning what he did and the other posted a 20 minute sob story blaming his mental health, and the comments on the first one are mostly positive while the second one is getting roasted. Has anyone else noticed how much the format of the apology affects whether people actually forgive them?

Guess the second guy didn't get the memo that a 20 minute apology is basically a cry for help and not a redemption arc. People can spot a pity party from a mile away these days.

Watched that whole thing and honestly it felt like he was trying to guilt everyone into forgiving him. Had a guy at my old job pull the same exact move, talked for 25 minutes about how hard his life was and barely apologized for actually messing up the project. People see through that stuff real quick because it's just not genuine you know? It feels more like emotional blackmail than an apology.
