Spent $40 on a Cameo from a canceled YouTuber to cheer up my brother, and now I don't know who got played here
My brother was laid off back in February and he used to watch this guy's videos every night before the whole thing blew up. I paid $40 on Cameo for a 2 minute clip, mostly as a joke, and the dude actually delivered it in 11 hours. Here's the split I keep going back and forth on: one side says giving these people money is just funding a comeback they never earned. The other side says the guy did the job, said my brother's name right, and made him laugh for the first time in weeks. I lean toward the second one, but I still feel weird about it. Where do you all draw the line, is a paid shoutout a fair gig or is it just fans bankrolling a fall from grace?
