Realized I was scrubbing stains the wrong way after a client showed me her 20-year-old countertop that still looked brand new
She used a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide left it on for 15 minutes before wiping off, and I guess I never thought to let the cleaner actually sit instead of going at it like a maniac has anyone else had a customer casually drop a cleaning trick that made you rethink everything?

Wait, are you saying you just wiped at it without letting anything sit first? I used to think leaving stuff on the counter would just dry out and make things worse, but honestly, this changed my mind too. Letting that paste sit for 15 minutes sounds like it gives the cleaner time to actually break down the gunk instead of just smearing it around. I guess patience really is the secret to cleaning, not just elbow grease. Did she give you any other tips that made you feel like you've been doing it wrong this whole time?

The soaking time really does all the heavy lifting so you barely have to scrub.
