It took me 4 weeks to realize my old fave's comeback was just a rebrand

I kept waiting for that YouTuber from 2019 to actually address the stuff they got canceled for, then I noticed their new channel name and patreon tiers and it hit me they just swapped the logo and kept the same act. Anyone else waste way too long trying to spot a real apology that never came?

Weirdly reminds me of this local band I used to follow back in like 2016. They got a bunch of backlash for stealing riffs, then just changed their name from The Hollows to Hollow Sound and dropped a new EP with the same exact guitar tone. Took me two months and a comment section deep dive to realize I was listening to the same dudes with a fresh font. The apology was just a pinned comment saying "we've grown" and then they kept posting the same merch drops.
