Warning about comparing apology videos side by side

I watched two influencers canceled last week for the same thing fake sponsorships but one did a 3 minute apology with crying and the other posted a 2 sentence note. The crying one got way less hate even though their apology was clearly read off a script while the short one got ripped apart for not caring enough. Does anyone else think the length of the apology is tricking people into forgiving the wrong person?

Wait, do people actually think crying means someone is telling the truth? I knew a girl back in college who cried on command during a group project when she got caught not doing her work. She got everyone to feel sorry for her while the rest of us got blamed for being too harsh. The short apology guy probably just didn't want to fake tears for views. I've seen too many people get fooled by a good cry on camera, especially when they're talking about scams that hurt real people's wallets.
