That whole James Charles vs Tati Westbrook thing from 3 years ago still gets me riled up
I was scrolling through old videos last night and landed on that whole drama from back in 2019 when Tati put out that 40 minute video about James Charles and vitamins. It was wild how fast everyone turned on him like within 24 hours he lost millions of followers. But now looking back, a lot of people are saying it was overblown and maybe even unfair because some of the stuff she said didn't really hold up later. On the other hand, James did do some questionable things and the cancelation forced him to actually grow up a bit. I saw a post yesterday where someone called it a "public execution over nothing" and another person said he deserved every bit of it. Where do you guys land on that mess now that it's been a few years? Was it fair or was the whole thing just a giant overreaction?

Wasn't it just a bunch of grown adults fighting over grooming and weird business deals though, feels like we all got played for views? Honestly, if the roles were reversed and a guy did what Tati did he'd get way more backlash than she ever did, so he kinda got what he asked for by being that messy in public.

Oh man, you hit the nail on the head with that one. I remember watching all that drama unfold and just shaking my head. It felt like we were watching a train wreck in slow motion, and everyone involved was just feeding off the attention. You're absolutely right about the double standard too. I've seen it play out in my own circles where a woman can lose her temper and it's "passionate" but a man does the same thing and he's "unstable." It's exhausting. Honestly, I think the whole thing made everyone look bad, and I wish I could get back the hours I spent watching those videos trying to figure out who was lying.
