That time I tried to get a canceled streamer unbanned but waited 6 weeks for an answer
Last month I saw this smaller streamer get canceled hard over a joke he made in 2018 that got clipped and blown way out of proportion. Everyone on Twitter was piling on and his channel got banned from Twitch within a day. I thought the whole thing was unfair so I wrote a detailed appeal explaining the context and that he'd apologized years ago. Figured I'd hear back in a week or two at most. Six weeks later I finally got a generic copy-paste response saying the decision was final. No actual review of the evidence or anything. It really made me wonder if these platforms even bother looking at individual cases or if it's just an automated system that flags and drops you. Has anyone else tried fighting a ban like this and actually gotten a real human to look at it?

Six weeks sounds about right for a platform that gets thousands of appeals a day, doesn't it? If they actually read every single one, you'd be waiting six months or more for a response. And let's be real, how do you know the streamer was actually innocent? You read a post from them saying it was taken out of context, but you weren't there in 2018 when the joke happened. The whole point of a cancellation is that the audience decides, not some support rep who doesn't know the history. Besides, if the joke was bad enough to get clipped and go viral, maybe there's more to it than you saw.
