There was this influencer last week who posted a recipe for muffins that called for $15 worth of specialty ingredients like truffle oil and gold flakes. People went nuts saying she was out of touch with normal folks during a recession. I actually tried the recipe and it was decent, but not worth the price or the drama. Do you think charging that much for a recipe video is asking for trouble or was the backlash overblown?

$15 for a muffin that needs truffle oil and gold flakes sounds like a recipe for a credit card bill, not a tasty breakfast. @karen_west59 you nailed it, the gold flakes were basically a flashing sign screaming "I'm too fancy for your grocery budget." I mean, if you want to justify the price, at least throw in some actual chocolate chips or something normal people can find at the store without a loan. The backlash was kind of overblown, but honestly, who posts a "budget friendly" video and then charges $15 for one muffin? It was asking for trouble like wearing a white shirt to a spaghetti dinner.
