That influencer's old tweets resurfaced and now everyone's mad, but I kind of get both sides
She posted some dumb stuff in 2016 about tipping servers, and now the thread's got 10k replies calling for a brand deal cancellation. I mean, people can grow up, but also she never really addressed it beyond a 30-second story post, so which is it, do we forgive or keep the heat on?

...and honestly that's what gets me about this whole thing. I had a similar situation back in like 2018 where an old blog post of mine got dug up, some dumb take about fast fashion that I'd totally forgotten I even wrote. People were tagging my work email and everything. What worked for me was just owning it fully, not with a quick story post but actually sitting down and writing out a real response about what I believed then versus now, no excuses. It didn't stop all the hate but it did change the conversation because I showed I actually put thought into it instead of just trying to make it go away. That's the difference here, she's treating it like a PR speed bump when people just want to see if she's the same person or not. If she did the work, I'd say let her cook, but a 30-second video after a week of silence says she's just waiting for it to blow over.
