That influencer who got canceled for lying about her college degree still bugs me

I met her at a coffee shop in Austin last year before it all blew up, and she bragged about acing a calculus exam she clearly didn't take. It just rubbed me wrong how casual she was about it, like nobody would ever check. Has anyone else run into someone canceled for something small that felt way bigger in person?

Honestly, I had a college roommate who faked her way through a whole semester of Spanish and then tried to order tacos at a food truck using Google Translate out loud. It was awkward cause she'd told everyone she was practically fluent, and the guy just stared at her. Small lies like that always catch up to you in the weirdest, most embarrassing ways.

Did she ever actually try to speak Spanish around native speakers after that, or did she just stick to the Google Translate thing? @butler.finley, that taco truck story is brutal (the guy just staring, yikes). I wonder if these people really think we forget the specific little claims they make, like when she told me she 'aced' a test I knew for a fact she'd never even signed up for. It's the casual confidence that gets me, you know, like they're daring reality to prove them wrong.
