Shoutout to that $500 'growth course' that just taught me how to repost memes

So last month I got roped into this online marketing course from some guy who claimed he got a YouTuber unfired from a brand deal scandal. Paid $500 for it. Turns out the whole thing was just 'post relatable content and wait.' Like, I could have learned that from my cousin's cat page for free. The worst part is he used canceled celebs as case studies but didn't even have the real tea on them. I'm out here broke and slightly wiser. Has anyone else fallen for a course that was just recycled Twitter threads?

I pulled the same thing with a "podcast growth masterclass" that was literally just screenshots of what to say in DMs. $300 gone and the guy's own podcast had like 12 episodes. If you're gonna waste money on something, at least get a course that shows you actual numbers or analytics, not just "post more." Check if they have real client results with receipts before you hand over a cent next time.

12 episodes over a whole masterclass? That's wild. I mean, at that point you're paying someone who barely even did the thing they're teaching. It's like taking driving lessons from a guy who's only driven around the block a few times. The "post more" advice is the biggest red flag too, it's the laziest thing you can tell someone. I'd be furious about that $300, you basically paid for his rent that month.
