Realized I was the problem after a creator I trashed got a fair point
I spent three days piling on that food blogger who got canceled for saying 'microwave oats are fine.' Called her lazy, said she was ruining cooking. Then I caught myself microwaving my own oatmeal last Tuesday at 7am because I had 5 minutes before work. It hit me that I was just mad she wasn't pretending to be a gourmet chef for clout. Has anyone else here had that moment where you realize you got fooled by the outrage?

Had a buddy who went on this whole rant about meal prep influencers being pretentious. Said they were just showing off with their matching glass containers and rainbow veggies. Then I saw him at the grocery store buying a pre-made salad kit in a bag, and he just shrugged and said it was a long week. He still talks trash about the influencers but I catch him watching their videos for recipe ideas late at night. That whole moral high ground crumbles real fast when you're tired and hungry.

Man, I see this happen all the time with people getting mad about "lazy" cooking hacks. My neighbor spent a whole week ranting about boxed cake mix being "fake baking" and then his wife was out of town and I caught him making a mug cake in the microwave. That whole online outrage machine just feeds on people wanting to feel better than someone else. It's like we all pretend we're these perfect home chefs or experts until real life smacks us in the face with a work alarm clock. Most of that anger is just people yelling at someone for doing what they'd do themselves if they were honest about it.
