Found out my favorite food blogger got canceled 3 times before I ever followed her

I was scrolling through an old Reddit thread about influencer drama and found a timeline of this food blogger I've followed for 2 years. Turns out she got 'canceled' in 2019 for a tone-deaf ad, again in 2021 for copying a recipe, and once more last year for a vague apology. I had zero clue about any of it since I only saw her pretty plating and cozy captions. The really wild part is she's still pulling 200k likes per post, so the callouts clearly didn't stick. Made me wonder how many other creators I follow have whole canceled pasts that just vanished from their feeds. Do you all check that kind of history before you hit follow, or is ignorance actually bliss here?

Honestly the whole point of following a food blogger is the food, not a full background check on their moral history. If I had to dig through every creator's old posts before hitting follow I'd never follow anyone, I'd just be reading archives all day. The fact that she's still getting 200k likes tells you everything, people already voted with their attention and they don't care. Cancel culture only works if the audience actually cares enough to leave, and most people just want a decent pasta recipe on a Tuesday night. Also most of those callouts are probably pretty dumb anyway, copying a recipe is basically how cooking works and a vague apology is better than no apology. Ignorance is not bliss, it's just practical.
