Warning: My brand new camp stove flamed out on its first trip

Just got back from a weekend up near Lake Tahoe, and my new portable stove completely failed. It was a 'JetBoil Flash' knockoff I bought for $60 online, supposed to boil water in under two minutes. Lit it up to make morning coffee, and after about 30 seconds the flame just sputtered and died, wouldn't relight. Had to drive into town for a gross gas station latte instead. Has anyone else had a stove just give up like that when it's basically fresh out of the box?

Honestly, that sounds like user error. Did you prime the fuel line properly? Those things need a solid warm up cycle.

Oh sure, blame the user. Next you'll tell me I was holding the flashlight wrong.

Holding the flashlight wrong is a real thing though. You get shadows in the wrong spot and miss the problem. It's not about blame, it's just how the light needs to hit.
