Vent: Just finished a DIY sleeping pad repair that made things worse

Honestly, I followed a popular tutorial online for fixing a leak. Ngl, now I'm stuck with a lumpy mess and doubting every user review I read.

Man, that's brutal. I've been burned by glossed over tutorial steps too, especially with adhesives. You really have to wait like twice as long as they say for anything to set properly. Learned that the hard way when my patch job peeled off on the first night out.

Which tutorial was it, because in my experience some gloss over the curing time for adhesives. That can definitely lead to a lumpy mess if you move the pad too soon. I'd be curious to know the steps you followed to see where it might have gone sideways.

That garage door insulation kit disaster comes to mind. Used silicone sealant recommended by some random forum guide. Applied it in cool weather, didn't wait nearly long enough before trying to press the panels up. Whole thing slid down overnight, left these permanent thick ridges. Had to scrape it all off with a putty knife.
