Rant: My quick-setup tent failed in a light drizzle

I used to praise my pop-up tent for being so easy to put up. But last trip, a bit of rain got in and soaked my sleeping bag through a seam. I spent a shivery night wishing I'd checked the waterproof rating better. Now I see that fast setup isn't worth much if you get wet. I'm definitely swapping it for something sturdier before my next outing.

That "shivery night" sounds like the tent's way of reminding you to read the fine print. Pop-up tents are great until they pop open for rain instead of just for you. Guess some things are better slow and dry than fast and soaked.

Ugh, been there with a leaky tent. Nothing worse than a cold, wet night ruining the trip.

Isn't it more about tent maintenance than type, @abby675?
