Just hit 40 nights in my tent this year and didn't expect it to feel that heavy
I mean, I knew I was camping a lot this season, but when I counted up the nights last weekend I was at 40 exactly. That's more than a full month sleeping on the ground in a three season tent from REI. What surprised me was how much my old sleeping pad started mattering after night 30. Has anyone else hit a random number like that and realized their gear just doesn't hold up the same way?

Yeah that 30 night mark is REAL for sleeping pads, they just start breaking down. Swap to a foam pad for longer trips or stack two cheap ones if you want to push past it without spending big money.

Oof yep same here, that 30 night curse is way too real with inflatables.

30 nights out of a single inflatable pad? Hold on @terry_carter15 that's wild to me. I got maybe 15 nights out of my big agnes before it got this tiny slow leak near the valve. Had to patch it twice and then just gave up and switched to a z-lite. That 30 night mark sounds like you're either really careful or you got lucky with your pad.
