Had to pick between a 20-degree and a 40-degree sleeping bag for a shoulder season trip in the Adirondacks.
Went with the 20-degree one, and it was the right call. The temp dropped to 28 the second night, and I was fine. Anyone have a good lighter-weight option for similar conditions?

Honestly, the fill type matters less than the bag's cut for your sleep style. A tight mummy bag rated for 20 degrees will feel way colder if you toss and turn a lot. I'd look at a quilt or a roomier bag with that rating to actually stay warm.
