That old Pentax Spotmatic I found at a thrift store in Saskatoon
I was digging through a dusty shelf at a Value Village last weekend and spotted a Pentax Spotmatic for $15. The meter needle was stuck and the shutter sounded sluggish on the slow speeds, but the lens was clean. I grabbed it hoping I could get it working again after work shifts. Has anyone here brought one of these back to life with just a CLA and new light seals?

@finley729 that tap trick worked on my beat up Zenit too.

Oh man, nice find! My buddy snagged a Spotmatic at a garage sale for like ten bucks and the mirror was stuck up. He just gave the whole thing a gentle tap and it popped right back, then he replaced the light seals himself with some craft foam and it's been shooting fine ever since. I'd say you got a steal as long as the lens glass is good, those old Takumars are worth it alone.
