Saw a bunch of old film cameras at the Portland flea market last weekend

Most of them were priced like junk but I spotted a Leica M3 in a box of broken stuff for $50. The seller had no idea what it was, just needed a new shutter curtain. Has anyone else found a gem in a pile like that recently?

Man you have no idea. My buddy tried to buy an old lamp there last month and the seller insisted it was a "rare 1920s Tiffany" but it had a plastic plug and a made in Taiwan sticker on the bottom. He asked about it and the guy said that just made it more rare. What are these people even thinking?

Oh wow, that's an amazing find! I'm so jealous you got a Leica for basically nothing. It's crazy what slips through when sellers don't know what they have. I totally get what @kevin_harris78 is saying though, some sellers are just in their own world with the made up stories. You really have to know your stuff to sort the real deals from the junk they're trying to pass off.
