PSA: Found out Canon made 5.6 million AE-1 bodies and that explains the $18 parts cameras
I was digging through an old service manual reprint from a shop in Rochester and saw the production total in the intro, which floored me because I always figured they were somewhat limited. It sure explains why a beat up AE-1 body with a dead shutter still shows up for $18 at any swap meet. What odd production number has stopped you cold on a model you work on a lot?

Check the mirror bumper foam on those cheap bodies, it turns to goo and jams the mirror.
