Just realized a client's complaint about my cleaning method was totally right
They said my lens cloth left a haze on their 50mm f/1.8, so I switched to a two-step process with a rocket blower first. Anyone else get pushback on their cleaning routine?

Rocket blower first is the only way to go, honestly.

My old method was a straight up crime scene. Left more junk on the glass than I took off. Lucashart is right, the rocket blower is a total game changer. Blow the grit off first, then wipe. It seems so obvious now. I was basically just grinding dust into the coating for years. Felt like a real genius when I finally figured it out.

Yeah, it's one of those things you don't realize until you see it. I used to just go straight in with the cloth too and wondered why my lenses never looked perfect. That first puff of air makes all the difference, gets the big stuff off so you're not just smearing it around.
