I picked a Japan-made screwdriver over a Swiss one for shutter work and stuck with it
Everyone told me to get the Swiss set for those tiny Copal screws, but I went with a 5-piece Japanese kit for $40. After rebuilding three leaf shutters, the fit feels tighter and I haven't stripped a single head. Anyone else swear by a specific brand for precision work?

@gavin_kelly91 The fit was spot on from day one. Japanese steel just feels right for this work.

Have you noticed the fit staying consistent after a few months of use or did it settle in right away?

and it's the same thing with kitchen knives honestly. everyone raves about German steel but I've found Japanese blades hold their edge way longer during normal use. seems like the whole "stick with what works for you" thing applies to more than just screwdrivers.
