Hit 200 rolls of film repaired this year and it hit me how nuts that is
I was counting up my repair logs last night and realized I've fixed 200+ film cameras just in 2024. That's way more than I thought I was doing. Has anyone else tracked their numbers for a full year and been surprised?

Man oh man, that's the kind of thing that really makes you stop and think! It reminds me of how we treat so many things as disposable these days, not just cameras. You see it with toasters, lamps, even furniture - people toss them at the first sign of trouble instead of just fixing a simple loose screw or a dirty contact. Same with phones and laptops, they get thrown away for a dead battery that costs $20 to replace. It's like we've lost the habit of stopping to see if something can be saved. So seeing you hit 200 cameras really drives home how much good work there is in just taking a little time with stuff. It's a small act of rebellion against the whole "buy new" mindset, and it adds up fast.

Wait, does that count include the ones that came in half-dead or are we talking full CLA jobs? I read somewhere that most old film cameras just need a light seal swap and a basic clean to get going again, which honestly makes a huge difference in how many you can save. 200 is wild regardless, you're basically running a one-person rescue mission for all those forgotten Minoltas and Canons out there. It's got to be satisfying seeing them come back to life though, especially the ones people thought were beyond saving.
