Stuck between Blum soft close and a no-name brand for kitchen drawers...

I had to make a call on a set of 12 drawers for a kitchen remodel in Denver last month. The client wanted soft close but was trying to keep costs down. I went with the Blum clips and slides, even though they cost me about $180 more total compared to the off brand stuff. They installed smooth and the adjustment was a breeze... no fiddling around. The no name stuff I used on a previous job had a few that started sticking after just 6 months. Anyone else found a budget brand that actually holds up as well as Blum?

Real talk, is it really that deep for a drawer slide? I've used the cheap ones in rentals for years, they still close fine. Maybe people just get too worked up about this stuff.

You said "is it really that deep" and honestly, I'm leaning toward no. They're drawer slides, not a suspension system on a race car. I've got cheap ones in my kitchen that have been going for five years, no issues. People love to overthink hardware like it's some kind of life-or-death choice. Sometimes you just need the drawer to slide, and it does the job fine.

Yeah, you're right. People get way too worked up over drawer slides.
