Maple face frame split on install day in Boise, need advice on fixing without a full rebuild
I was on the last cabinet of a 12 box kitchen install in Boise last Tuesday and the face frame on the sink base split right along a pocket screw hole when I snugged it to the wall. I pulled the box, clamped the split, and shot two 18 gauge pins with glue, but you can still feel a slight ridge under the paint. The homeowner is picky and I'm worried the crack will telegraph through the finish in a few seasons. Should I route out a small channel and glue in a maple spline, or just fill and hope it holds?
