I used to think pocket hole joinery was just for quick fixes

For years I only used it for shop cabinets or hidden frames, thinking it wasn't strong enough for good work. Then I built a set of painted maple drawers for a client about six months ago and used pocket screws with glue for the boxes. They're still perfectly square and solid after daily use. I guess seeing how the glue bond works with the screw really changed my mind on it. Now I use it for a lot of painted casework to save time. Has anyone else had a project that made them switch up a joinery method they avoided before?

Still seems like a shortcut to me.

Remember my buddy tried that shortcut with his car's oil change. He saw a video saying you could just top it off instead of draining it. Tbh, it worked for like a month, @seanlee, then his engine started making this awful knocking sound. The mechanic said the old, dirty oil basically turned to sludge. Cost him way more than just doing the full change right.

Right? I've had the same thing happen with biscuits.
