I dropped $340 on a track saw for cabinet boxes and went right back to my table saw after 2 weeks
I know everyone online says a track saw is a game changer for breaking down sheet goods, so I finally bought one 6 months ago for $340. Used it on a run of 8 maple cabinet boxes for a kitchen in Modesto, and it was slower for me. Setting the track, clamping it, checking for square, moving it for each cut, that whole dance added maybe 20 minutes per box. My table saw with a good crosscut sled does the same job cleaner and I can repeat cuts all day without thinking. Sold the thing for $250, so I ate about 90 bucks plus the blades. Not saying track saws are junk, plenty of guys swear by them, but for box work in a small shop they didn't earn their keep for me. What are you all actually using yours for, because I feel like I missed something.
