Fell for that fancy hundred dollar wood moisture meter

Bought a top of the line digital meter for $120 but it gave me wonky readings until I learned you have to calibrate it before every use. My last cheap analog one for $30 was just as accurate once I figured out the basics has anyone else had trouble with these expensive gadgets?

More expensive doesn't always mean better in my experience.
